What would be a free or low cost programfor editing software. I only need it for manually cutting out commercials.
I have videoredo installed but on some programs the voice is out of sync after savingwithyout saving and reloading and using the adjust voice drop down box. I have to watch and adjust the setting a little at a time until I get it to sync.
I cah use video redo to do the none editing portion.

I have recordings that have been transferred off my tivos onto a laptop which has Tivo Desktop Installed. When the laptop is initially booted up the folder is visible on the tivos however if the laptop is idle and goes to sleep when it is brought back up the folder is oftentimes not visible to the tivos. Short of going through a full reboot of the laptop is their a way to ensure the TiVo server also resumes on wakeup ?.

Has anyone experienced any problems with extracting English closed captions for Justified season 6? I am using CC extractor and have not had any problems with any other shows, but with Justified I'm not sure exactly what language is being extracted. Closed captions are ok when enabling and playing on TiVo.

All i want to do is access/play my personal music and view my personal pictures thru the TIVO Roamio if possible.

I have a TIVO Roamio. Apple TV. Apple Time Capsule. Apple Airport. External Drive. Denon AVR. Mac Mini. And/or will buy whatever is needed to make this "just work".

Obviously, i don't want to use all devices, so what is the absolute simplest way to play my personal music and view my pictures? Can i connect an external HD or plug in a network cable?

I'm using TivoDesktop and have used it successfully for a number of years. I've been using it just fine with my Roamio Pro since 2013. This weekend, I started getting the error message "There was an error while attempting to retrieve data from the selected DVR. The system cannot find the file specified." TivoDesktop can see the Roamio Plus, and the error comes after it counts down through the 749 recordings. The Roamio Plus can see and access the recordings on my computer through TivoDesktop. I have TivoDesktop running on other computers, with the same result. I have a premiere and an elite also, and TivoDesktop continues to be able to access those. I've had 20.4.6 on the Roamio for a couple of weeks, so no immediate impact from that. I've reinstalled Tivo Desktop, rebooted everything, changed the Roamio's name, and deauthorized and reauthorized on the website. I can access the shows by using https and the TiVo ip address. Any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks

I have been pushing films to tivo for years using specific metadata to cause them to group in a movies folder.

I would like to pull some films using correct programId as they get much more complete metadata on the tivo that way.

I realize the pulls will never group with the vids already pushed, but is there a way to have the pulled movies group in a folder of my creation? If this has already been discussed, just a pointer to the thread would be appreciated. I did search and was not able to find such a topic.

And while I am asking about pulls, any way to get the tivo to display art work on pulls with correct programId? It works for tv shows but I cannot get it to do so for films.

I have recently started getting errors with all of my auto transfer files when they get to the final stage to encode. I can't figure out what the issue is. I'm patiently waiting for my new to me Roamio Plus and one of the big features that made me switch from satellite to cable/Tivo is the ability to see various streaming available that is well integrated.



So I've been reading the pyTivo and Streambaby discussions and have to admit I'm totally confused. Is there such a thing as 'pick your stream transcoder' for dummies? It would sure help.



All I want to be able to do is see the 'channels' in Playon and recordings from Playlater, pick one and play it. Having it work with the global search would be great, but just having the ability to see and use the files created by Playon/Playlater would be good enough.



I can almost see how these programs work with Playlater mpeg4 files, but don't understand at all how it deals with streaming live.



Any simplistic, as not tech as possible, instructions/use out there??

I've seen the same reoccurring error when downloading a file. It gets most of it downloaded but errors out. Attached the log file.

I am getting the error "incorrect media key" when trying to connect to my Tivo. I know my MAK is entered correctly, I've verified it several times both using the Tivo menu and on the Tivo.com website. cTivo finds it without a problem over Bonjour. I've also tried connecting manually using the IP address of the Tivo.

My log file is below.

I'm running cTivo version 2.4.0b7 (534) trying to connect to a Roamio 4 tuner. Both the Tivo and Mac are connecting over wifi.

Has anyone had this issue? Thanks for the help!

I just downloaded and installed Desktop plus - put in my media access key, Tivo sign in, etc. and then added the picture folders from my PC. No problems or errors.

But when I go to my Mini and select Music & Photos, there are the usual entries (Picasa, etc.) but not my photo's folders. Does it take a while for them to show up, or does this not work with Minis?

Also, assuming I do get them to show up eventually, I'm wondering about the best way to add the folders for what I want to do. I want to be able to shuffle through all the folders dated 1999-2015. On my PC, these yearly folders are sub-folders residing in a My Pictures folder. My Pictures also contains documentation folders I don't want to shuffle through. So would I be better to add My Pictures and then Remove the sub-folders I don't want showing, or add the sub-folders I do want individually? I guess I'm wondering if I add them individually will I be able to pick a shuffle mode that will go through all of them or can you only pick one folder at a time?

I was hoping to also be able to download recordings to my Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro but it looks like only Apple products are supported for that at this time. Hopefully that will change.

I have a Premiere Elite and use PyTivo extensively. One problem that keeps coming up for me that on the rare occasion I set a manual recording of an extended length, say 5 hours, and then try to transfer that five hour show to the PC with either PyTivo or Tivo Desktop, I only get the first hour of approx 4GB to transfer, and not the whole consecutive 5 hours of total size 16GB. I do see that the manual recording lists that first hour of show in the title metadata, and I think that maybe the header/metadata of the first hour show name listed (first Hour video=4GB) is all that is transferring of the complete five hours 16GB. Is there any way to get it to transfer the complete contiguous single 16GB five-hour file manual recording in entirety? Will KMTTG do it?

I am new to TiVo Desktop Plus and TiVo Roamio Plus. I am receiving a “could not start the conversion process” when I trying to convert the 40th Anniversary Saturday Night Life to iPad on a Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 computers using an Ethernet connection. However, I do not have a problem downloading it to my iPad Air 2. In addition, I am also getting partial downloads on some shows using TiVo Desktop Plus and once again no problem on the iPad.

One thing I did learn while downloading on the iPad. If I try to download using 5 GHz, it does not completely download, but is fine on 2.4 GHz.

Has anyone figured out a way to get pyTivo pushed movies to appear in the new "My Shows -> Movies" section? Or any of the other sections? Everything I push is only available in the "All" section. I'd love to have them filed properly into the various sections that the new organization provides.

Everything worked up until yesterday. Now I can't refresh the Now Playing list using kmttgv1.1j and Windows 7.

I now get this over and over:

I can refresh other things so connectivity doesn't seem to be it. I can see the To Do List, Season Passes, etc.

I deleted some recent recordingsto see. It still stops one shy of the end, such as 219/220.

I can login via the web interface.

I've tried rebooting Tivo and re-installing kmttg.

Any ideas?

Greetings, Have been using VideoRedo to author recorded Tivo Content for several years without any problems. Recently I changed the program I use to capture recordings from the Total Media Extreme v2.4 which was bundled with my Hauppauge device to Hauppauge Capture. When I attempt to load these recorded files in Video Redo I now get an error stating "Unable to determine Initial Clock, details in the log file".

Curious, but all of my Handbrake encodes (Universal setting, as well as High Profile), require me to hit the 'Zoom' button on my remote (I have a TiVo Premiere) in order to fill the screen, resulting in a nasty hit to the quality. When I say fill the screen, I mean fill it with the intended aspect ratio. When the TiVo is set to the 'Full' setting, I get a windowboxed video (letterboxing and pillarboxing). I assume I've got to change some video or picture setting when encoding, but I don't know which one.

The encodes are all from DVD media and are done as anamorphic. From what I can tell, there are no issues or need to zoom when playing the same files on my AppleTV or Roku3. Anyone else experience this or know what needs to be set when encoding so the video doesn't need to be zoomed to be represented on the screen correctly?

As I mentioned, I've got a Premiere and have PyTiVoX running to serve up content. I've seen some threads about 'streaming' the video files, but my setup only allows me to transfer them to the TiVo. The folders I'm sharing appear in My Shows. Is this a PyTivoX issue and not a Handbrake/encoding issue?

My friend has a Suddenlink TiVo and a couple of Minis he got through them. Can he use KMTTG to transfer shows to his computer? I don't know if there are any restrictions on the cable branded units.

Is anyone using the Tivo storage expansion feature on a Netgear WNDR4300 router with an attached USB external hard drive?

I'm having some problems getting this feature to be fully functional, and was wondering if anyone else had seen similar problems.

I currently have a Tivo Roamio Pro. I recently upgraded my router to the Netgear WNDR4300, and want to take advantage of its built-in Tivo compatible DLNA server to access shows stored on a USB external hard drive. I have a USB external hard drive onto which I had previously transferred shows from a Tivo using Tivo Desktop. I have connected the hard drive to the router's USB port and enabled the ReadyDLNA server and Tivo compatibility mode in the router. The hard drive shows up correctly in the router's admin web page, and my PC can see the hard drive (and all the files on it) through the network. The Tivo can see the router in 'My Shows' as a server named 'ReadyDLNA: WNDR4300'. But when I select the ReadyDLNA server, the list of shows it displays from the hard drive is incomplete - about 10-20% of the shows on the hard drive don't show up on the list on the Tivo.

I have verified that WNDR4300 has the latest firmware from Netgear. I copied several of the shows onto a different USB external hard drive and connected it to the router, and get the same results - the shows that were found on the 1st hard drive were also found on the 2nd hard drive, and the shows that were not found on the 1st hard drive were also not found on the 2nd hard drive. When I connect the USB hard drive to a PC running Tivo Desk top, the Tivo can see the PC just fine, and will display all the shows on the hard drive.

Many of the shows were originally transferred from a different Tivo onto the hard drive, and most (but not all) of these show up on the 'My Shows' when the hard drive is connected to the WNDR4300 router. However, shows that I have tranferred off my current Roamio do not show up when the hard disk is connected to the router (but they do show up when connected to the PC running Tivo Desktop).

My current version of Tivo Desktop is 2.8.3 (the free version, with patch installed). I don't know if it matters, but all the shows are in the same folder named 'Tivo' on the hard drive.

Anybody have any ideas on why the files for some shows can't be found by the WNDR4300 ReadyDLNA server?
