Linux box as TiVo "PC" server

Greetings-

I have a TiVo HD box on the network, a Windows PC operating TiVo Desktop, and a Linux box that is my main home computer. Generally, in order to stream a video to my TiVo box, I use ffmpeg to translate it into .mp4, then copy it to the Videos directory on the Windows PC, and it gets automatically copied to the TiVo.

Recently, the name of my Linux box has been showing up in the TiVo's "Now Playing" list as a PC, so I'm wondering if there's a way to bypass the Windows PC and serve video from my Linux computer to the TiVo. No videos show up when I select that option, so I can't figure out where on the Linux computer I should place videos to be served. I'm very experienced with Linux but have never really tried to connect it with TiVo before. Any pointers will be very welcome.

I did download Galleon and install it, and it's running. I haven't tried pyTiVo yet but am happy to do so if that's what handles this task. Thanks for any help.
